        Scottish ladies & Men's Singles 2018.

Champions 2018 William Borland & Chelsea Mcmahon

We are fast approaching the half century of SDA Singles Championships but this year’s entry was very disappointing in both the Mens and Ladies competitions, nevertheless the quality and high standard of darts shone through the 47th outing of this event, this year’s finals being held at the CISWO Club, Glenrothes.

East Stirlingshire’s William Borland added the SDA Singles Championship to the SDA Masters title he won last year with a 5-0 win in the final over Ryan Hogarth from Borders. William averaged 26.66 in his final match with Ryan clocking in at 24.72.

The semi-finalists were Gary Stone, East Stirlingshire, who lost out 4-0 to the new champion and Jared Rafferty from Tay Vally, the recent Fife Open champion, who was beaten 4-3 by Ryan.

Making up the quarter finals were Owen O’Neill (Tay Valley), Nathan Girvan (Angus), Paul Coughlin (Tay Valley) and Mark Barilli (Greenock).

The Ladies title was won by Fife’s Chelsea McMahon (19.23) with a 4-2 victory in the final over Susanna McGimpsey (18.61), taking runners-up spot for the second consecutive year, but a previous champion in 2007.

Chelsea defeated Renfrewshire’s Lynsey McDonald 4-3 in her semi-final match with Susanna gaining her final spot thanks to a 4-0 win against the defending champion Kate Smith from Tay Valley.

Reaching the last eight were Emily Davidson (Grampian), Moira Coughlin (Tay Valley), Debbie McBride (Renfrewhire) and Steph Gilmour (Fife).
